Past Birthday Party Part 1

T is growing up. He is a teenager. Soon, I hope he will stop being a teenager. But to celebrate him turning to the terrible teens we threw him a birthday party. This time we did what he wanted. We went Paint balling.
It was a great day for him. I made sure of it. I said "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" and I drew him a picture of a paint ball, it was easy, I only had to draw a circle. We started the party off by picking up his friends then we met certain family members at the paint ball place.
There was no turning back. When we got there, they gave us helmets and heavy paint ball guns. This was war. When we went behind the curtain we saw our legacy. Paint. I think the refs enjoy putting people who have never done this sort of thing in their life against people who know how to shoot and who come paint balling every other week. This was no man's land.
Round 1: It was our first time behind the curtain of Doom. Only two people out of our whole group had actually done this before. The refs saw right threw us. They split us into two teams. The ones who knew why they came and The ones who didn't. I was on the team that didn't know why I came. (oh yea, because I love my little brother. stupid me) To start off, this place behind the curtain of Doom was absolutely covered in paint. It had carpet soaked in paint (I slipped more than once) it had inflatable obstacles/things you could hide behind while you attempted to shoot at your opponent, and it smelled of paint, fear, and pain. I don't know why, but when I went with my team (the didn't know why they came team) I could not stop laughing. I was about to be shot at, my team members were doomed to failure, and in order to keep on my feet I had to walk fairly carefully across the war zone. It was bad. The ref blew his whistle telling us to go, my team just coward behind the castle. Well except for a few brave souls. That included my brother-in-law, my sister M and T's friends. Yes I was afraid. I had gone into a sense of hysterics and when I finally built enough courage to move out from behind the castle most of my team was already out. As it turned out I was the last one standing, but because I had no idea what would happen once I stepped out from behind castle I got shot. Many times. I put my hand in the air telling those who seemed to do this for a living that I was out. This was no longer something to laugh at. It it hurt. And I was no longer laughing.
Round 2: They switched refs in this round. this ref made us stand against the wall while he counted off "1, 2, 1, 2." This made things much easier. This time I had team members who knew what they were doing. This time, I had a chance to win. My goal in this round was to shoot at least one person. I did it. Instead of standing right behind the inflatable castle I stood to the side of it. I did hit one person, but he was on my team. He was one of T's friends, and at the end of round 2 he came out and said "Gosh, that last round sucked. Someone shot me in the butt." I knew what I had done, but I said nothing.

Tom Jones - "It's Not Unusual" on The Ed Sullivan Show

Blind Date ( in question and answer form/conversation)

Q: What did you do this weekend?

A: I went on a blind date.

Q: Oh FUN! who with?

A: I forgot his name. Well sorta, my friend tried to help me remember his name by associating it with a whale, (Noah, Fatty, Sir Swims With Whales A Lot) goodness knows, it's probably the first name on that list. But now that I think about it, Jonah makes more sense than Noah, hmmm.

Q: Ha ha, well I think you should at least get to know his name.

A: Well, he didn't remember mine. At the end of the date he said, "I'm so sorry I keep forgetting your name." Then I told him my name rhymes with trophy. (you can't make it easy for the man, plus only one name rhymes with trophy.) He was a smart one, he guessed correctly and gave me a hug for good measure.

Q: What did you do on the date?

A: It was a group date. We played Curses (possibly the worst game on earth) then we made crepes and watched Tangled.

Q: How do you think it went?

A: Well, it went. Since I'm basically the new girl in town I don't really know my way around quite yet, so I was an hour late getting to his house. Then I got introduced to my whale date/host, we said hello to each other, told each other our names (then instantly forgot them) and they introduced me to Curses. (you already know how I feel about this game) it seemed to last (Sandlot) FOR EVV VER, FOR EVV VER, FOR EVV VER. (great movie by the way if you've never seen it) However, it did get better. The Crepes were good, but my heart will always and forever belong to Swedish Pancakes. After that we watched Tangled, (that girl has sOO much hair) Sadly it was time to leave, and since I forgot to mention that my lovely mother drove me to his house (because she needed the car) I needed a ride home. I got one. But he wasn't my date. I learned a ton more about him on our short ride home than I did about my own date, but sadly I didn't find out his name, and while getting out of his car I fell flat on my face. Haaaaah isn't that how it always works out.
I must say that this was a good date and I hope to go out with these people again, they were all super duper nice to me and I really did have a great time.

Q: So over all it was a good date?

A: Yea, it was a good date : )

YES

lame and lonely hick from out of town

What a freakin fantastic musical! Who knew right? Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, you didn't think it could happen, but my doubting friends it has.
It starts off with the Mustache man, you see there on the cover, coming into town for some supplies, when he decides he needs a wife to take back to his brothers. He sings a beautiful ballad about how he wants his woman to have heavenly eyes and be just the right size, plus she needs to be tough and a wonderful cook, that's Millie the girl being held in Mustache man's arms.
when he finishes his song he stops to ask Millie if she'll marry him.
oh my gosh! she did it! she married a hick from out of town. Then she moved in with her new husband the mustache hick and his Seven Brothers. Amazingly enough, out of the Seven brothers only two of them are attractive.
Any who, Millie when she gets to her new life with her hick mustache husband and his seven brothers she starts to worry. weird huh. The house is a mess, her new brothers are a mess and she feels that she didn't bring enough to feed her new family. but Millie being who she is, The girl with heavenly eyes being just the right size plus she is tough and a wonderful cook, she sets to work. Millie cleans the house, she cleans up her brothers, teaches them manners and how to dance (with a good song I might add) and she gets them excited about going to the farm raising and meeting all them girls.
the farm raising goes well in the sense that Millie has trained a bunch of ladies men, but the town's people don't go for it, they can only see Hicks from out of town trying to steal their women, so of course there is a HUGE fight. Millie and her clan go back to where they came from
(out of town)
The boys are sad. They thought they really had something going with those girls at the farm raising but they live so far away. So they sing a song about how much it sucks being a hick from out of town it's called "lonesome Polecat" another name for it is called "lame and lonely hick from out of town." So mustache husband, being the good older brother and wanting to cheer up his younger single brothers, sings a song about "Sobbin' Women" and how the men just took and married the women they wanted. What a phenomenal idea! we'll go and take the ladies we love bring um back here and marry them!
They do it! and ladies and gentlemen that's how it happens. the love connection is strong, the songs are great! the beards are even better. it is a must see musical. must see.

On the road.

I have a license. It's pretty exciting. Grocery runs for mom. Take T to his friend's house. Drive places. I like my photo. Things are pretty good.

High Highs - Open Season (Official Video)

Trying New Things

What a great year for new things. New home. New School. New Friends. Why not a new blog? I say that because I have two blogs. the first one I forgot about and how appropriate it was called Whoops. But now I have a new Blog that I daresay is much prettier and sophisticated. Well, I think it is anyway.
Now more about me. I think some boys are attractive. I enjoy the occasional hot dog when I'm in the mood. I love the Beatles. I think lemonade and milk are the two out of three of my most favorite things to drink. I believe in Christ. I love my family. I am terribly afraid of horses, I like them from a distance, same goes for birds. I am crafty, it happens when you are born that way.
I love to sing, especially when my family is around. I feel that I can make very good banana bread, and I love finding new songs that I can enjoy.
